our little babe.

surprise, i'm pregnant!

 i'm 14 weeks, and we are sooo excited! jack is just the cutest husband and best daddy already.
the timing could not possibly be better for us. jack will just be home from externships in january, so we will have time to attend some prep classes together and spend our last two months soaking in our quiet alone time before our darling baby comes. and then we have a few months after baby before he graduates as a handsome doctor and we move to wherever he matches for residency.
...and i get to be home in washington. to have my baby. somebody pinch me!
Dear Lord, your perfect plan blows us away once again.

the first trimester:
i was basically a useless human that was more couch than girl. let's just say that there are few netflix series that i have yet to see at this point.
i {knock on wood} haven't thrown up, but i've been close. all i could bear to eat was fruit, top ramen with an egg cracked in it, and microwave mac n cheese {the organic kind because, i died a little inside thinking i was feeding my baby all that processed food}. my level of fatigue pretty much bordered that of a sloth in 100 degree heat 100% of the time. even emptying the dishwasher felt like running a marathon. i will not disclose how much motivation it took to even take a shower. all good signs though! jack was so supportive. i'd apologize for not having dinner made {ahem, ordered} or for wearing the same thing two days in a row...and all he said was that he loves me and our baby, and that all that stuff can wait.

the second trimester:
i'm just getting there, so i'm going to try not to jinx myself. i feel a lot of energy coming back, so i'm getting back to working out, which feels amazing. and i only feel sea sick if i forget to eat. so far, no bump yet. my tummy is bigger, but it looks more like a cheeseburger bump than a baby bump. i can't wait to start feeling the baby move, and to find out the gender so we can start shopping!!

here are some other fun photos celebrating our news:

{my official test, and my 8 & a half week ultrasound!}

looking forward to updating as the journey continues...
